The Man

There was always competition between them.

Terry and Joe, brothers in spirit, would often square off, toe to toe, in direct challenge, one to the other, and almost any issue would do.

Pick a sport, a board game, who could hang upside down, or hold their breath the longest, win a dart match, a chess game or balance the kitchen chairs on 2 legs the longest, it was all in good fun.

They were the best of friends, seeking "The better man", and that title would be awarded to one or the other on nearly a daily basis.

Inevitably, love would come along, and like everything else they shared in their lives, they shared Sue.

Rather than making her a bone of contention, Joe was the better man as he decided to give Harry his blessing, once Sue had made up her mind.

However, their wedding night was not to be, as Harry was a bit tipsy after his bachelor party and never quite made it home.

Sue thought she would never smile again, but Joe made sure she would.

Time passed, wounds healed and they grew closer.

As he stood on the altar with her, Joe really knew, who was the "Best Man".
