The doors slam behind us as we are huddled into a room.
A short speech from nobody, and we're packed down a hallway, awaiting a space.
Punishments like uniforms will be dealt out, fair or unfair, to assure conformity.
Punishments that seem to rip the flesh off the side of your face.
Restrictions on your legs, so you can no longer stand.
Sharp metal edges smashing your fingers.
We will be here for 12 years of agony.
It seems an interminable stretch of time.
It will be hard enough, but the others will make it unbearable.
And this is only the first day of St. Patrick's School.
